What are your COVID-19 procedures?
We appreciate that the way things work now are a little different to how they used to be but we still offer you the same experience and advice as always.
It is now yourself and 2 guests with everyone wearing a face coverings due to the intimate appointment area we have. If you could bring your own that would be great but there are disposable face masks available if you forget.
Hand sanitiser stations are in the shop and your guest is to remain seated at all times during the appointment.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
Yes, you can contact us by telephone or email and we will arrange this. Due to the new COVID-19 guidelines we are 'BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.' An appointment allows you time to view and try the dresses without being disturbed by others. It also enables us to give you undivided attention. For Saturday appointments you should book well ahead if possible.
Can I bring friends/family?
Certainly, it’s great to have help on hand when choosing a dress. All we ask is that if you bring no more than 2 guests as per government guidelines.
We do request that at the moment no children or under 16's attend the appointment.
Can you reserve a dress for me?
Yes but only if the £20 holding fee had been paid which holds 1 dress for 7 days. This payment is non-refundable but will be taken off the price of the dress should you proceed.
Can I leave a initial payment and pay the remaining balance later?
Yes of course, but all payments are non-returnable and non-refundable. The order-in initial payment vary from dress to dress. An initial payment of £300 secures the dress in the 'Dress Packages' for you then there is up to 6 months to pay the remaining balance (depending on when alterations need to be started). Dresses £150-£300 are to be paid for in full at the time of purchase but can be stored free of charge. We have a flexible interest free payment plan which is either weekly or monthly, whichever suits your needs.
How much do you ask for as an initial payment?
The order-in dresses vary from dress to dress but the 'Dress package' dresses are £300 initial payment.
What if I change my mind?
You do need to be sure about your purchase at the time you buy. All 'Ready to Wear'/'Dress Package ' gowns are non-returnable and non-refundable. This is common practise in the bridal industry and is especially applicable with sample gowns so we do ask that you check your gown carefully before paying to ensure you are totally happy with it.
However, our gowns are in all in excellent condition so this is rarely an issue. Dresses that are ordered cannot be refunded as they are specially made for you.
Can I revisit if I can't make my decision straight away?
Yes, we are happy to welcome back our customers for a second appointments as we understand that it is a huge decision and it is sometimes a difficult one to make.
Do you have payment options so I can pay for my dress over six months?
We can arrange a flexible interest free payment plan with you either weekly or monthly over a period of 3 months but the dress cannot be taken until fully paid for. No alterations are possible until payment is made in full. No refunds are available on any payments made.
How long will my appointment last?
We allow up to 90 minutes for each appointment. This seems to be about the right amount of time for most people to try their favourite gowns on.
What happens if two people want the same dress?
The great thing about Chapel Bridal is that you can pick up a designer dress at a great price. The problem is, there’s usually only one of each! So, if two people want the same 'Ready to Wear' dress then it is sold to whoever makes the decision first. This is the fairest way. So in order to avoid disappointment, if you see something you really like, it’s best not to take too long to think about it!
I work full-time -Can you accommodate me with an evening appointment?.
Yes! We appreciate how tricky it is to juggle work/family commitments and plan a wedding at the same time so Chapel Bridal is open for appointments 6 days a week: Mon - Thurs 10.00 am & 1.00pm (6.00 pm for evening appointments), Fri & Sat 10.00 am & 1.00 pm. We are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays for the time being.
The evening appointments are very popular so please book early to avoid disappointment.
How can I pay?
We are happy to accept payment by PayPal, credit/debit cards and bank transfer.
Do I need to bring shoes?
Yes, it is recommended that you bring a pair of shoes that are either what you will be wearing on the day or a pair that has a similar heel height to what you want to wear on the day.
Is it easy to park?
Yes, we have plenty of parking in our own private car park.
Can I reach you by train or bus?
We are situated just outside of Carmarthen on A484 Kidwelly/Llanelli road in Idole. A bus service X11 runs every hour from Carmarthen to Swansea and there is a bus stop just outside the chapel.
I love the dress but it doesn’t fit, what can I do?
Most dresses can be altered to fit and the price for alterations will vary depending on the amount of work required to achieve this. A dress that is too big can usually be altered down by a size or two.
Do you have an alterations service?
While we do not offer an in-house alterations service we do have numbers for local independent seamstress' that we can refer you to. We are happy for you to have your fittings with one of the seamstress' at Chapel Bridal with prior arrangement by all parties.
Why no make-up as some other stores don’t mind?
Chapel Bridal dresses are different to store samples. Stores order in new gowns from their samples so they don’t have to take as much care of them – although most bridal wear stores do make this request. The worst offender is fake tan! Please DO NOT wear this when trying on any of our dresses.
Do you have accessories to go with my dress?
Yes, we have a large selection of veils and tiaras that are available for purchase.
Chapel Bridal is a food and drink free shop.
At Chapel Bridal we understand that not all dresses will be a perfect fit and will require some alterations. While we personally don't perform the alterations we do have alteration specialists that we can recommend who are able to undertake the necessary works needed.
